Samsung integrates Mobile and Consumer Electronics Division
Samsung is reshaping the company to strengthen business competition. The South Korean electronics giant has merged its mobile business with the Consumer Electronics Division. At the same time, all the posts of CEO have been changed. News Engadget.
Jong-Hee Han, head of Samsung's television business, has been named vice chairman and co-CEO of the newly merged mobile and consumer electronics division. He will not relinquish responsibility for visual displays, but will lead both businesses, Reuters reported.
Han has no experience in the mobile business, but has been given a new role in recognition of his contribution to leading the world in television sales over the past 15 years.
Samsung President Kyehyun Kyung has been appointed Co-CEO and will lead the Chips and Components division.
